the vault / scorecard
Fourteen sections, scored out of twenty eight, in about ten minutes. Score where you are today, not where you plan to be in a month, because Amazon does not grade on intention. Three of the fourteen are pass or fail on their own, and the last four only bite if you are selling outside Australia.

01 — the scorecard
Everything starts at Not started, so the score only moves when you say it does. Pick whichever line matches where you actually are. Your total and the read on it update as you go. Sections 11 to 14 cover selling outside Australia; if this launch is Australia only, the Ready option on each of those says so and you score the full two.
Not launch ready
Opens your mail app with the score and your open sections already written in. Nothing sends until you press send.
Sections 1, 2 and 3 are pass or fail on their own. A strong score everywhere else does not offset selling non compliant, uninsured, or on an account that fails verification, so those three get fixed first regardless of what the total says.
Sections 11 to 14 are the overseas suite. They are not hard gates, because plenty of good launches are Australia only, but they are the ones that stop a shipment at the border rather than costing you a few points of margin. UK VAT has no threshold for an overseas seller, and Germany and France will not let a listing go live without a valid EPR number, so they get sorted before stock moves, not after.
Each of those four carries a Not applicable option. Mark it and the section leaves the score completely: it stops counting towards your total and it comes out of the denominator, so an Australia only launch is scored out of 20 rather than 28 and the bands below move with it. Nobody gets penalised for skipping a market they are not entering, and nobody collects points for one either.
Section 7 is the one people most often score themselves too high on. If you have not run a specific SKU through the fee stack, you are In progress, not Ready. The margin calculator settles it in about two minutes, and the launch budget covers section 6.
02 — reading the score
Most of the groundwork is still ahead of you. That is not a bad place to be, it just means Amazon is not a launch this month decision yet. Fix the registration and compliance basics in sections 1 to 4 before touching anything else.
The foundation is partly in place, but there are real gaps that will cost you time or margin if you launch around them instead of fixing them first. The gaps usually cluster in pricing clarity, content, or channel protection, so go section by section rather than trusting the total.
The groundwork is done. From here the risk is not readiness, it is execution: sequencing the launch properly and not underestimating the ramp in the first ninety days.
Those cut-offs are the full twenty eight point scale. Mark any of sections 11 to 14 not applicable and they move down in proportion, so the same seventy five per cent still reads as launch ready. The result box above always shows the band you are actually in.
Wherever you landed, the gaps are specific and fixable. Nobody scores twenty eight on the first pass, and the ones who claim they do usually have not read section 3 closely enough.
03 — next
Two of these sections have a tool sitting behind them. Section 7 is the margin calculator, section 6 is the launch budget, and both are free and ungated like this one.
Or send the score over and I will tell you which section to fix first.
04 — stay current
The score you just ran is a snapshot. Fees move, marketplaces open and the bar for a new region shifts with them. Leave your email and you get the updated numbers when they change, plus a note when a new tool goes into the vault.
